Blossom Once Again

重新綻放

非洲紫羅蘭買回家後不久，第一批花就全謝了，等待了三個月，花朵終於在冬月尾聲重新綻放了。讓我回想起小學時我引以為傲的水粉顏料，算是當時學校門口小賣部的最新款顏料，裡面有一隻顏料很特別，相比其它紅色、黃色、藍色，它的名字並不是簡單的紫色兩個字，它有一個洋氣的名字，叫紫羅蘭。正因如此，我覺得這個顏色很珍貴，於是格外節省這隻顏料，每次只捨得在調色盤裡擠出一點點來用，那時並不知道紫羅蘭是一種花。如今看到重新綻放的一個個花朵，感嘆我的顏料盤從來都沒有鋪開過這麼多紫羅蘭的色彩。

Not long after bringing home the African violet (Saintpaulia ionantha), the first batch of flowers withered completely. After three months of waiting, the flowers finally bloomed again at the end of winter. This reminded me of the gouache paint set I was proud of in my elementary school, which was the latest model sold at the school gate. Among them was a special color that had a fancy name: violet, rather than just the simple term "purple" like the other colors-red, yellow and blue. Because of this special name, I treasured that color and used it sparingly, only squeezing out a tiny bit each time on my palette. Back then, I didn't even know that violet was a type of flower. Now, seeing all the flowers blooming again, I can't help but marvel that my palette has never showcased so many shades of violet.
